Matchup Data: Win Rate, Ties, and Sample Size

A matchup percentage is only as useful as its sample. Ten games can suggest a direction; dozens of games provide a steadier signal. DECKRISE displays sample sizes so a dramatic percentage cannot hide behind a tiny number of rounds.

READ THE SIGNAL, NOT JUST THE NUMBER.

Ties should remain visible whenever the source tournament records them. They affect standings and top-cut qualification even though they are neither wins nor losses. The DECKRISE simulator therefore models Swiss draws separately from elimination rounds.

Weighting can make recent tournaments more responsive without deleting historical context. It should always be disclosed, and raw totals should remain available beside weighted rates.
